Barkley is a sweet beautiful Pure Bred Standard Poodle that currently weighs 45 pounds. Keep in mind that he can get as big as 70 pounds. He is only about a year and a half old. He needs someone with an active lifestyle, that is willing to take him on walks and runs. He has so much potential. He is very smart and like the breed very trainable!

​It has been brought to our attention through fostering, that Barkley may need to go to a home that doesn't have any other dogs or cats or any other small prey. He doesn't like to share his space with any other animals and will growl at them if they get to close to him or his humans. He also shows heightened, and intense interests in smaller animals such as cats, squirrels and rabbits, including smaller dogs.

​Barkley is a fence climber so he will need to be monitored while off leash. As a rule he sticks close to his people but will require several weeks before he can be trusted off leash in a fenced area.

Barkley's adoption fee is $375 to help cover the cost of all his vetting and neuter.

We are a home based, not for profit organization in Northeast Alabama that helps place forgotten and unwanted pets in forever homes.  We are an all volunteer, 501(c)3  organization.  We rescue pets from high kill shelters, prior to being euthanized, as well as strays and unwanted pets.

We do not adopt to "outside only" homes nor do we adopt to anyone who wishes to crop, dock, or do any other alterations except the spaying and neutering of their pets.  All pets are completely vetted, up to date on all vaccines, and given rabies certificates.
